Department for Administrative affairs and Register

The Department for Administrative Affairs and Register is responsible for:

1. Matters concerning religious communities, except for those falling under the competence of Department of Ecclesiastical Administration and Department of Islamic Affairs;
2. the supervision of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece, the Organization for the Welfare and Rehabilitation of Greek Jews, and the Jewish Communities;
3. the supervision of other religious communities;
4. the granting of permits for the construction of places of worship for all the above religions and denominations, and their supervision;
5. the granting of permits for the establishment and operation of places of worship for all the above religions and denominations, and their supervision;
6. the approval of the relocation of places of worship or changes to their name;
7. the approval of the replacement of religious ministers;
8. the operation of a Register of religious communities, licensed places of worship, and religious ministers;
9. the handling of any other related matter.
